Dessert

On Electric Road No. 21, there is a dessert store. She is not selling traditional Chinese dessert (e.g. red bean soup, black sesame dessert) nor trendy creative dessert (durian sweet bean curd). According to my eating experience, I would say the desserts there should be origin from the late 90s.

Egg Tarts From Violet Cake Shop (94A Electric Road)

There is always a good bakery smell coming from this cake shop.

I cant help stop by and buy two egg tarts each time. (HKD 3 each)

Dumpling Yuan

Hey, there’s a new dumpling place on Electric Road, at the intersection with Tsing Fung Street. It’s always packed. Bad service and too crowded. But the dumplings are yummy! Just get the plain dumplings, rather than dumpling noodle soup (as the soup and noodles are unexceptional). The cucumber salad (in vinegar with sesame sauce and dried red peppers) and “pidan tofu” (black “10,000 year-old” egg mixed with tofu) are great too!

Starting Off: Tin Hau Places

I have lived in Tin Hau since 2007 Apr, it was a love in first sight. I just love it more and more each day.

Tin Hau in Chinese (天后) is the name of the goddess who takes care of fishermen, it also means Diva in new age. Perfect name for this wonderful place !

I love it here because there are many good restaurants, arts stuff, the beautiful Victoria Park, sport area and it is so convenient and peaceful. Anyway, lets get started. let me walk you through some of my favorite places along Electric Road.

Veggie + fruit + flower store at the corner at Whitfield Road. A very convenient place for me to pick up any veggie in time of needs.

Seafood store. (Electric Road no. 119) They have very fresh lobster, crab , shrimp, clam, fish …  Sometimes, they have a bucket of lobsters for like HKD 60, not bad at all !
